After a decade of delays and legal battles, Atlantic County is scheduled to break ground on the first building of the Stockton Aviation Research and Technology Park.
Once completed, the park will providestable, high-paying jobs as county and state officials try to diversify the region’s gaming-dependent economy, which has struggled with the rise of competition.
“One segment has dominated for several years, but that industry has contracted, taking jobs and ratables with it,” Atlantic County Improvement Authority Executive Director John Lamey said. “Although somewhat stabilized, the potential for its growth is limited.”
