With the rapid growth of small-scale craft beverage companies in New Jersey and throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, comes the industry’s increasing need for a trained workforce.
To meet this need, Cumberland County College will offer a new Beverage Tourism/Tasting Room Management career certificate program beginning in the fall 2017 semester.
New Jersey’s flourishing fine wine industry has been compared to that of California. The Garden State could just as easily be called the Vineyard State as more and more wineries continue to open each year. New craft breweries, brewpubs and cideries have appeared at an even faster rate. And there’s a lot more room for growth.
“Tasting room work in wineries, breweries and distilleries presents an exciting career opportunity,” said Cumberland County College’s Dr. Robert Clark. “The three-tiered Beverage Tourism/Tasting Room Management program was designed to rapidly prepare students for employment in this field, and also offer them the chance to fully advance their careers over time. We anticipate that this program will help Beverage Tourism in our region reach its full potential for consumers, employees and businesses alike.”
