Deborah plans new medical facility

Work has begun here on a new medical building at Deborah Heart and Lung Center.

A three-story, 60,000-square-foot facility is to open in the spring of 2018 at the site of the former Eichman Pavilion on Deborah’s Browns Mills campus.

The facility “will bring much-needed new services to the area,” according to Deborah.

It said the building will include an urgent care center and an imaging center. It will also offer cardiac rehabilitation and outpatient physical therapy.

A crew is demolishing the pavilion, which was built in 1949 and held administrative offices, classrooms and a medical library. The pavilion’s former occupants have moved to new quarters on Deborah’s campus, which was founded in 1922 as a tuberculosis sanitarium.
