SNJDC President Marlene Asselta Name to SJ Biz Power50

High_Res_MarleneSouth Jersey Biz has named Marlene Asselta, President of the Southern New Jersey Development Council, one of the most influential professionals in South Jersey. The magazine picked the Power 50, who shape change and add to the vitality of the community.

South Jersey Biz chose from a diverse collection of organizations from long-established businesses to brand-new upstarts – all contributing to the recent growth and success of the southern New Jersey region. The SNJDC is a proud part of this community with Asselta at the lead.

Asselta has successfully led the SNJDC since 1985, an impressive career of 31 years. As the president of the organization, Asselta assists over 350 member organizations and 1100 members to encourage economic development, business growth, and professional development. The success of the SNJDC under Asselta has grown the organization exponentially and inspired parallel growth in the surrounding region. The SNJDC now represents over 40 business sectors from all eight of the southern counties and membership reaches from South Jersey to Central and North Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and beyond.

Asselta continues to build on the Council’s foundation by focusing on the member organizations. Each member that joins the SNJDC is provided with four core resources: education, information, access and impact that combine to build a strong membership base. A registered lobbyist, Asselta represents the needs and issues of each individual organization, making membership an economic way for an organization to have their own personal advocate in both Trenton, NJ and Washington, DC.

South Jersey Biz honored individuals with a commitment to bettering the community around them. Asselta’s philosophy of uniting community and corporate leadership continues to foster new partnerships that build a better South Jersey, and inevitably, a better State.
