More tenants announced at old Tri-Towne site

Virtua, the anchor tenant at The Shoppes and Residences at Renaissance Square, will be joined by three restaurants, a Dunkin’ Donuts and more, officials announced Wednesday morning.

A stand-alone, drive-thru Dunkin’ Donuts, along with La Scala’s Italian restaurant, La Vez Mexican restaurant, Gaetano’s pizzeria and cheesesteaks, a Hair Cuttery and a nail salon will be among those at the mixed-use facility.

“It’s a great day in Evesham today,” township Mayor Randy Brown said. “I stood before you two years ago after Rick Birdoff made a deal with the township to improve what was Tri-Towne, K-Mart and Sears into Renaissance. We’ve got standing behind us some new tenants, some of the people that have committed significant amounts of dollars and decided that they want to be here, they want to be right here in the center of Evesham. Rick Birdoff and I go back multiple years in trying to get where we are today.”

The $70 million Shoppes and Residences at Renaissance Square project is to be a 122,820-square-foot facility and will include 338 luxury apartments across five buildings opening sometime in 2018. About 84,000 square feet of existing commercial retail space is being rehabbed, and Virtua will take up part of that rehabbed space.
