Redevelopment plan would increase options around Polercoaster

The Casino Reinvestment Development Authority approved a redevelopment plan on Tuesday for the area surrounding Martin Luther King Boulevard to increase development options around the proposed Polercoaster roller coaster.

The plan would allow for usages around the amusement including retail space, more amusements, hotels, bars, and casino hotels. The proposed Polercoaster is set to be built on the site of the former Sands Casino.

“The uses in this redevelopment plan are the same uses that will be permitted in the master plan amendment if it’s approved,” said Lance Landgraf, director of CRDA planning. “This how we have worked around the lack of permitted usages in zoning.”
