Rowan College approves 4-year strategic plan

Rowan College at Burlington County’s four-year road map was released last week highlighting its planned path to provide affordable education and expand services that will set students up for future success.

In the next four years, college officials hope to recruit students to stop the trend of declining enrollment in higher education, maintain a low tuition rate as students and their families struggle to pay off student loans and expand online offerings to attract adults looking to go back to school.

According to the 24-page plan -which focuses on access, affordability, quality and effectiveness, and student success – the college will turn to marketing strategies to recruit not only students that rank in the top 15 percent at their high schools, but also active duty military men and women, and “adult learners.”

Since the college joined forces with Rowan University in June 2015, officials have worked to implement a $25,000 bachelor’s degree program dubbed the 3+1 Program, developed the Workforce Development Institute with the county, and began steps to transition out of the Pemberton Township campus to Mount Laurel.
