Sewer construction on Woolwich center could come as early as summer

Plans for a sprawling complex featuring retail and residential space on Route 322 in Woolwich — called Kings Landing at Woolwich, formerly called the Woolwich Regional Center — are advancing now that a redevelopment agreement to install sewer has been signed.

Since 2008, plans have been discussed to bring in a retail center, including shops and restaurants, and housing units, to the Route 322 corridor and to create a destination feel in mid-Woolwich Township. It would be a place that commuters from the New Jersey Turnpike could stretch their legs and residents could visit for shopping needs a little closer to home. The lack of sewer capabilities in the area, however, has been what’s kept progress halted on the project.

In 2015, though, Logan Township agreed to expand its sewer treatment facility, allowing Woolwich to finally have sewer capabilities in place for the development. In October, the township signed a redeveloper’s agreement Precision Land Development.
