Two big-name brands may be moving into the resort’s historic Boardwalk Hall – the Miss America Organization and Starbucks.
The Casino Reinvestment Development Authority approved leases with both at its board meeting Tuesday.
The Miss America Organization is renting an 1,800-square-foot space, formerly occupied by the Atlantic City Alliance, at Boardwalk Hall for $1,500 per month, CRDA said. But the Miss America organization said Friday nothing was finalized and it was still in negotiations with CRDA.
The board also authorized a lease with JP Hall LLC for the operation of a Starbucks franchise on the west side of Boardwalk Hall, with an entrance directly from the Boardwalk.
CRDA will pay $589,709 toward design, engineering and outfitting the space with mechanical, electrical and plumbing facilities and a new entry door. Starbucks will spend $700,000 on improvements, according to the CRDA.
