Vineland eyes $1.5 million in upgrades at Burnt Mill Pond

The city is moving forward on planned improvements at the Burnt Mill Pond site on North Delsea Drive.

Vineland City Council in August passed a bond ordinance appropriating $847,500 for various projects at the recreation area.

In July, Vineland was approved for a $560,000 grant and $187,000 loan from the state Department of Environmental Protection Green Acres program for work at Burnt Mill Pond.

“Burnt Mill Pond is one entry point into the City of Vineland for those visiting the area, so we want to get things moving forward on the revitalization efforts,” Fanucci said. “It’s one of the first places you see, you want it to be beautiful. We have residents who moved there for that scenery.”
