Water main replacement projects to begin in Burlington, Camden counties

New Jersey American Water announced Tuesday the start of water main replacement projects in its service areas in Burlington and Camden counties to improve service reliability, prevent water outages and enhance fire protection. The projects, with a combined cost of over $4.2 million, will replace aging pipe dating back to the 1900s.

“New Jersey American Water places a high value on our proactive replacement program, as it helps us improve water quality and service and makes our systems more resilient to potential disruptions in the future,” stated David Forcinito, senior director, South Operations. “These projects within Burlington and Camden counties are a continuation of the critical investment for the company to provide our customers with safe, reliable water service.”

Beginning this month, New Jersey American Water qualified contractor, South State, Inc. will begin work in Gloucester Township.
