A former municipal dump that the city’s mayor said once routinely was set on fire could soon be the site of 100 homes along the back bay.
The former landfill, located off Susquehanna Avenue on the west side of the city, is in the process of being capped by dredge spoils from Ocean City, but Mayor Ernie Troiano said he has high hopes for the 26-acre strip of land.
In addition to about 100 bayfront homes, the new development could feature a large restaurant and a marina, the mayor said.
Last month, the City Commissioners approved a resolution authorizing Back Bay Wildwood, LLC, as the site’s conditional redeveloper.
