The Evolving Grid: Economics, Policy and Infrastructure Modernization

The region’s business leaders, developers, energy leaders, and elected officials were in attendance for a riveting day of discussions and debate on grid modernization, the policy needs, and how we can achieve our clean energy future.


A panel of industry experts discussed the topic both locally and nationally and featured Robert Baranowski, of Hyland Levin Shapiro, Janice Fuller, Mid-Atlantic President at Anbaric Development Partners, Ian Michel, Founder and Principal of Point Energy Solutions LLC, and Debbie Yakubics, Director of Transmission and Substation at Atlantic City Electric.


Dr. Kenneth Lacovara, Founding Executive Director of the Edelman Fossil Park and Museum at Rowan University, presented on the park’s sustainability efforts.


A legislative panel on the policy needs to overhaul our grid then followed, led by Dr. Benjamin Dworkin, Director of the Rowan Institute for Public Policy and Citizenship and featured Assemblyman Bill Spearman (D5), Senator Bob Smith (D17), and Eric Miller, Executive Director of the Governor’s Office of Climate Action and the Green Economy.


Attendees also heard noteworthy remarks from NJ Department of Environmental Protection Commissioner Shawn M. LaTourette and New Jersey Board of Public Utilities President Christine Guhl-Sadovy.
