Elected Officials Sound Off at South Jersey Forum

Over 200 Attendees at Two-Day Legislative Conference in Atlantic City

More than 200 public officials and business leaders gathered in Atlantic City for one of the largest, two-day legislative conferences in the region.

On Wednesday morning, March 8th, the second day of the 35th annual Sound Off for South Jersey Legislative Conference was held at Resorts Casino Hotel. New Jersey Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno was among the candidates in this year’s New Jersey gubernatorial race to address the crowd.

The conference concluded with a legislative panel during which participants were given the opportunity to discuss issues that impact South Jersey.

“We’ve heard from several legislators, elected officials, we communicate to them so that they hear what our concerns are and then they address them,” said Marlene Asselta, president of the Southern New Jersey Development Council. “Obviously, the concerns in South Jersey are pretty varied and most of them today were actually addressed.”

Among some of the topics discussed were education, state finances and taxes, opioid addiction, infrastructure, energy, and health care.
