Atlantic City among 18 towns awarded part of $100M boardwalk grant

The city will receive a $20 million share of the state’s $100 million Boardwalk Preservation Fund.

Atlantic City is one of 18 towns to receive money from the fund. The state plans to make a formal announcement of the grant awards Friday.

The fund, administered by the state Department of Community Affairs, was made possible through federal funding from the American Rescue Plan.

Other local municipalities benefiting from the grant are Brigantine ($1,185,838), Cape May ($6,722,552), North Wildwood ($10,259,827), Ocean City ($4,859,175), Sea Isle City ($1,997,000), Ventnor ($7,110,689), Wildwood ($8,269,013) and Wildwood Crest ($1,087,425). All coastal counties and municipalities that sought funds for repairs to existing boardwalks were able to apply.
