Bison at N.J. zoo gives birth to her second calf

Visitors to the Cape May County Park & Zoo have a new animal to check out following the birth of a male Bison calf last week.
The latest furry addition to the zoo has not been named, but he is the second calf born to his mom “Beverly” and dad “Hank” and is the ninth member of the Bison herd at the zoo in Middle Township. He weights about 50 pounds, the zoo said.
One of the two largest surviving terrestrial animals in North America, adult American Bison grow to about 6-foot-7 in height, 11-foot-6 inches in length and will weigh from 880 to 2,800 pounds when fully grown.
