Jennifer Young handles State and Local Government Affairs for Verizon in Southern New Jersey. She develops relationships with state,  municipal and county government leaders on behalf of the corporation.

Ms. Young’s career began at Bell Atlantic-New Jersey in the Small Business Sales Group in Newark. She moved to Bell Atlantic-Pennsylvania several years later for a challenging assignment in Network Operations. During the following decade, she led teams and projects in Operations, Project Management, Installation and Maintenance, Construction, Dispatch, and Workforce Development.

In 2004 she became Verizon’s Southern New Jersey External Affairs Field Director to work with community and business organizations across the region on behalf of the company.  Over the past nineteen years Ms. Young has served on numerous boards including –  Atlantic Cape Community College Foundation, Camden County Workforce Investment Board, Cape May County Chamber of Commerce, Chamber of Commerce of Southern New Jersey, Camden Community Partnership Board, Chair of the Gloucester Salem Employer Legislative Committee, Greater Atlantic City Chamber, Southern New Jersey Development Council, Steering Committee Member of the William J. Hughes School of Public Policy at Stockton University and member of the LEAP Academy Charter School Board of Trustees.  Serving on boards is one way that she works to make an impact in the community.

Ms. Young holds an MBA from Strayer University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance from Hampton University.  She is a graduate of Leadership New Jersey and a Life Member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.  She has received awards from many South Jersey organizations including the Girl Scouts of Southern NJ, NAWBO, and Burlington-Camden Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
