Comcast sees future in Toms River Xfinity store

Say good-bye to Comcast‘s older customer service centers.

The cable company has opened a new Xfinity Store on Hooper Avenue in Toms River, closing customer centers in Brick, Manchester and on Route 37 in Toms River.

A large TV display sits in the middle of a seating area to showcase the company’s X1 Platform. Other displays showcase different services, such as the company’s smartphone applications or Xfinity Home, which is Comcast’s security and home automation product.

Customers also can turn in and pick up set-top boxes or remotes or talk to a representative about their bill.

The Toms River location is the first Xfinity Store in Monmouth and Ocean counties.

Other Xfinity stores are in Mount Laurel, West Orange and Rio Grande. Comcast spokeswoman Jennifer Bilotta said other locations will open in the coming year.
