Gerresheimer opens technology center in Vineland

German glass manufacturer Gerresheimer on Monday reported the opening of a “first of its kind” development center adjacent to its tubular glass converting plant at 91 W. Forest Grove Road in Vineland.

The Gx Glass Innovation and Technology Center held an official opening celebration on Sept. 25 for customers. More than 100 people attended the event, led by Gerresheimer Chief Executive Officer Dietmar Siemssen.

According to Monday’s announcement, 25 experts and engineers will work at the center. The center’s design includes allowing collaboration with customers on site.

The center will service Gerresheimer Primary Packaging Glass. The proximity to the existing tubular glass plant will allow its engineers to work with the center, according to the statement.

Gerresheimer said center staff projects include new products, further digitization, process capabilities, and camera inspection systems.
