Haddon Avenue bridge out of use until late May, Jackson Road is next project

A Haddon Avenue bridge that crosses an NJ Transit rail line is closed to traffic while a $1 million project addresses structural deficiencies. The closing began March 12 and is expected to end by May 27, according to Camden County’s Department of Public Works.

“This is a major piece of county infrastructure and repairing it is critical,” Camden County Commissioner Al Dyer said of the span near Route 30 and Berlin-Cross Keys Road. A NJ Transit spokesman said bridge covers over the Atlantic City Rail Line. The project should have no impacts on that service, he said.

The county has a second major project for the borough scheduled for April. It is designed to benefit walkers and bicyclists, as well as motorists.
