New nursing, science options as N.J. university expands

A ceremonial beam-signing for Rutgers-Camden’s “state-of-the-art” $62.5 million Nursing and Science Building was held at 5th and Federal streets in downtown Camden.

The facility, which is currently under construction, will allow Rutgers to “expand its ability to prepare a new generation of science and nursing leaders for New Jersey and the region while growing Camden’s standing as a center for innovation and excellence in health care and the biosciences,” the university said in a press release.

The 10,000-square-foot building that will grow Rutgers’ footprint is expected to open in summer 2017. Biology, chemistry, nursing physics and more will be taught at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels to students there.
