Oat milk maker planning South Jersey expansion

Construction is expected this Spring on a $45 million facility that will provide processing and packaging to a Swedish-owned facility in Millville that produces the raw material for a popular oat milk and similar milk-substitute products.
Innovation Foods LLC, a fourth-generation family business rooted in Cumberland County, will build and operate the facility at 4 Gorton Road. The project builds on a partnership it established several years ago with Oatly AB.
Construction will start with a 71,866-square-foot main plant. The Gorton Road property essentially is directly behind the Oatly plant. That proximity will allow Oatly to move product via a pipeline instead of tankers to the new facility, project attorney Michael Fralinger said.
