Paulsboro to ask NJDOT to designate Broad Street a ‘Pedestrian Safety Corridor’

The Paulsboro borough council voted to petition the state to evaluate Broad Street and designate it as a Pedestrian Safety Corridor.

A New Jersey Department of Transportation program, Pedestrian Safety Corridor program targets selected roadways with a history of pedestrian safety problems for investigation and improvement. If designated as such, safety impact teams made up of engineering professionals will work to develop improvement concepts, including facility improvements and educational and enforcement strategies to pedestrians and motorists.
