Rowan College of South Jersey, Rutgers Univesity-Newark form transfer agreement

Rowan College of South Jersey and Rutgers University-Newark have formed a partnership agreement to help students transfer to the North Jersey school.

The colleges celebrated the transfer agreement Wednesday with a ceremony that included state officials, faculty, staff, administrators and students from both schools.

The partnership marks a milestone for Rowan College of South Jersey, said college President Fred Keating. “RCSJ-Cumberland has a history that goes back as a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) and we fly that flag proudly,” Keating said in a statement. “Rowan College of South Jersey, with the Gloucester and Cumberland campuses, has been recognized as the only community college in the state of New Jersey that has both an HSI transfer agreement with two universities and also a Historically Black College University (HBCU) relationship.”
