328- bed addiction treatment facility proposed in Mount Laurel

Recovery Centers of America, which is seeking to open “behavioral hospitals” throughout the East Coast, is proposing a 300-plus bed facility on Route 38, a plan that has already drawn a petition from nearby residents.

If approved, the facility would be used to provide both inpatient and outpatient care, including detoxification, residential rehabilitation, partial care treatment, intensive and general outpatient treatment, as well as Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous meetings.

The center is one of several addiction treatment centers from Massachusetts to Maryland proposed by the company, founded by real estate developer J. Brian O’Neill. No centers have opened yet, but according to published reports, a health care investment firm has committed $231.5 million to their construction.
