6 SJ places to watch the Super Bowl

The big game, which happens to turn 50 this year, is coming. What do you mean, what “big game”? You know what I mean. Whether or not you actually like football, the Super Bowl has essentially become a national holiday to be celebrated with large groups of people and with plenty of food and drink on hand. If you don’t wish to be the supplier of such sips and nibbles, we’ve got you covered.

A fun evening – which may require you to find alternate transportation home – will be had at Bobby Ray’s. For $20, you will be able to enjoy a buffet spread that includes wings, barbecue pulled pork, meatballs with rolls, mozzarella sticks and fries.

Alstarz in Bordentown will be starting its party at 5 p.m. Sunday. Draft beers are $2.50, and those beers will help you wash down all those wing specials. And speaking of wings, there will be a Hot Hot Wing-Eating Contest during halftime.

Bung’s Tavern is offering a free buffet while you watch the game, along with pitchers of Miller Lite for only $5. If you’re more of a pizza-and-beer kind of person, enjoy your $5 Miller Lite pitcher with a two-topping large pizza for $10.99.

Meanwhile, over at Dolan’s Irish Pub, wings will only be 60 cents each during the big game. In addition to wings, there will be a special $5 appetizer menu as well as a free halftime buffet.

And as always, Adelphia will be having its own tailgate party for the big game. The buffet for the evening will be $24.95.
