Blue Angels to perform at Millville Army Air Field Museum’s 2017 air show

The U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels flight demonstration squadron will headline the Millville Army Air Field Museum’s annual air show in 2017.

Museum officials said the elite unit will perform in the skies above Millville Airport during the Wheels and Wings Airshow on Memorial Day weekend.

“This is exciting news for Millville and all of Cumberland County,” said museum President Chuck Wyble. “Through the dedicated efforts of our air show committee, and many community-minded individuals and local businesses, our Millville air show has grown to achieve the highest status of military recognition in the country by being selected as a jet team show site.”

The performance will be one of only 35 nationwide for the Blue Angels, and the only performance location in New Jersey and the Philadelphia and Wilmington, Delaware, area in 2017, museum officials said.

This performance – held at the location of the country’s first defense airport in World War II -will mark the second time in two years that the museum’s air show attracted popular U.S. military outfits.
