Ocean City plan includes $160M in projects

The city proposes to take on $159.45 million in capital improvements over the next five years under a capital plan presented to City Council on Thursday.

The plan includes $30 million for improvements to the city’s public safety building, which city finance director Frank Donato acknowledged was a bigger number than members of council expected.

Council had been skeptical of a previous $42 million plan to combine police, court and fire operations in a new building at Fifth Street, leading the administration to look at other options. The capital plan as presented also includes $8.5 million for renovations to the existing fire headquarters.
