Over $11 million secured for community-based projects in New Jersey’s third district

U.S. Rep. Andy Kim has secured over $11 million to fund community-based projects in New Jersey’s third district, including funds to restore a historic school in Burlington City.

Just one of 14 projects sponsored by the funding package, the William R. Allen School will receive $394,400 toward interior and exterior repairs, upgrades and restorations to turn it into a community center and early education site.

Other community projects to receive funding include:

  • $1.8 million for equipment upgrades at three locations within Bordentown City for Blacks Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant
  • $1 million for upgrades to Westampton’s firehouse
  • $960,000 toward installation of dewatering equipment to lower the content of sludge produced by the Burlington Wastewater Treatment Plant
  • $850,000 to build the new Lumberton Community Center
  • $783,000 to install a water main extension from the Potts Mill Road to Florence-Columbus Road intersections of Route 130
  • $500,000 toward construction of a new municipal building and community center in Riverside
  • $200,000 for accessibility improvements at the Gibson House Community Center in Marlton.
