Partnership leads to physician assistant program in Atlantic City

Kelsey Brangoccio is from Hamilton, Montana, but this year she is in Atlantic City training to be a physician assistant.

Brangoccio, 23, is one of 20 students studying at the Carnegie Building in a partnership with Philadelphia University, Stockton University and Reliance Medical Group that allows both universities to expand their offerings and helps spur economic diversity in the city.

The group arrived over the summer and took an anatomy class at Shore Medical Center in Somers Point before beginning their full course load in the fall. That gave students time to learn the area.

Fifty students are assigned to the Philadelphia program and 20 to Atlantic City. All get the same academic program and will have a choice of clinical assignments next year that include both the Philadelphia and South Jersey region.
