SOUTH JERSEY BUSINESS COMMUNITY HEARS FROM NJ DOT ASSISTANT COMMISSIONER PARTH OZA

Over 100 South Jersey business leaders participated in the recent Public Policy Speaker Series hosted by the Southern New Jersey Development Council featuring NJ Department of Transportation Assistant Commissioner Parth Oza. Attendees included a variety of professionals committed to the economic growth of the South Jersey region who were keen to learn more about upcoming projects and programs to support infrastructure growth and investment in our region.

Marlene Asselta, President of the SNJDC, welcomed the attendees and recognized the event sponsors and elected officials in attendance before turning the program over to Dr. Tony Lowman, Professor & Provost/Sr. Vice President for Academic Affairs of event host Rowan University. Commissioner & Deputy Director Heather Simmons gave brief remarks on Gloucester County development before Sam Donelson of AECOM, the event’s title sponsor, introduced the Assistant Commissioner.

Assistant Commissioner Oza spoke on a variety of topics including an update on the rollout of New Jersey’s Capital Improvement Plan, current and upcoming road and bridge projects receiving DOT funding, timeline updates on the Direct Connect project and collapse rebuild, NJ Turnpike Authority 1 to 4 interchange enhancements and ancillary improvements, and many other Department of Transportation priorities that impact the South Jersey region.

An audience Q&A followed, and Bill Brooks, Vice-President of STV Incorporated and SNJDC Committee Co-Chair closed out the event.
